Hey, everyone. Week two of my review for the AUD section of the CPA exam is over. The week has not been so great in regards to meeting my target number of study units to be completed. My scores are fine, but I had various things to do this week, including the family vacation that has been planned for months. I have been unable to crack the books for a few days because of family time. I was only able to cover and complete two of the five study units that I have budgeted for myself each week.
I am currently in Study Unit 8 of the Gleim Audit book. My grades vary from fifty percent to ninety percent. I typically work through each study unit two to three times. Once I hit a seventy-five percent or greater, then I move on to the next study unit. There were a few instances where I hit a seventy-five percent or greater during the first practice test. At that point, I move on to the next section as well. Overall, as I progress through the mid-way point of the material, I believe the level of difficulty is about the same as when I started. I thought FAR was just a beast. It is just a messy section. Maybe the Audit material is just easier than Financial Accounting and Reporting for me because I am an auditor and I can relate to various audit reports and technical jargon. From what I understand, the Audit section of the CPA exam is all about memorization. My focus is to go through all of the 20 study units and provide myself roughly two weeks for a comprehensive review. I hope to take the AUD exam by the first week of July.
