It’s been a highly productive week. I finished up my work on Partnerships and then created a little study sheet called “How Partnerships are Different from S Corporations”. One thing I find is that it’s not terribly hard to master the concepts in one particular study unit, but remembering the details of last week’s study unit is a different matter entirely! And with the similarities between Partnerships and S Corporations, I could imagine myself getting more than a little confused on test day.
This brings me to another subject; I haven’t scheduled my test yet. I know I should. I have been advised by people much smarter than myself that the adrenalin rush caused by an approaching test date is often just what is needed to push you to the end. What’s been stopping me? Simply this: an over-scheduled summer. I think I could be ready by mid-August, but with two out-of-town trips coming up, I am concerned that I just won’t be ready. So I’m still hedging, hemming, and hawing, but I will set a test date once life settles down. July will be an insane month for me, with three family birthdays (my son is turning 21) and vacations. No matter what, I will pass Part 2 of the EA Exam before the end of the summer. That’s a solemn promise. I owe it to all my Gleim buddies and supporters. I owe it to my husband who has been very patient with a wife who disappears into her study every day. And most of all, I owe it to myself.
What looms on the horizon for me this coming week? My greatest fear, the Darth Vader of my study plan, the great bugaboo of Part 2 – Corporations. Yes, six whole study units on Corporations, and on Monday, I will open my book to the first of these, Study Unit 11. I already know that can’t possibly be as bad as I fear, so there is only good news ahead. Hope everyone has a great week!

Hi Amy. I too am studying for part 2 of the SEE, I already passed parts 1 and 3. Thank you for sharing your experience, it helps me to keep chugging along knowing there are others out there doing the same thing. Good luck and keep up the thorough preparation. I look forward to more postings from you and the other bloggers.
