I’m finally finished with school. This week I took my last two finals for my degree. It has been a long road to finish, but I don’t have to worry about it anymore. I started three years ago in San Antonio, Texas, at a Junior college. I started with the introductory accounting courses and worked my way to The University of North Florida where I took all of the required undergraduate courses (my bachelor degree was not in business). I finished those courses and started the master-level courses in accounting last spring . What a great feeling to finally be done with school. In a few weeks, I will start back with the internship I was working in the spring. It is scheduled to last eight to nine weeks. I cannot wait to get back into working. I want to suggest that anyone who is in the bachelor portion of his or her education seriously consider the master’s program. I also think it is best to continue on with school without waiting when you finish your bachelor’s degree.
My family and I are scheduled to spend a few days on vacation together just before my Audit exam. That makes me a little nervous because of the timing, but with the condensed summer school, my internship, and my wife’s school schedule, it is the only time for both the vacation and the exam. Oh well, nothing has been easy so far, might as well be consistent. Did I suggest that you pursue all of your degrees and the CPA while you are young? Life only tends to get busier and a little more complicated the older you get, but anything is possible. Even if you are a little older than 20 something, like myself, it is a great feeling of accomplishment when you finish something you start. I am allowing myself a few days to enjoy being a graduate once again, but I will look forward to finishing the CPA exams in the future, hopefully starting in a few weeks.
