Hi, everyone. My name is Kathy and I have decided to begin the studying process for the CPA exam. My reason for doing so is because, over the past couple years, the job market has become extremely competitive. I am currently at the Accounting Manager/Controller job level, and it has been a challenge to advance my career to the next level without having a CPA license. I have been told on numerous occasions from recruiters: “Kathy, you have a very impressive resume, but I’m sorry, I cannot obtain an interview for you because you do not have a CPA license.”
So, after reflecting on the feedback from the recruiters and doing a lot of soul searching, I have decided to start studying for the CPA exam again. I have used other CPA prep packages before and have scored in the seventies but have never received a passing score of 75. I have spoken with numerous individuals about my experience with the CPA exam, and I have learned that they have had similar struggles while trying to pass the CPA exam. Just like me, they have used other CPA prep courses but could never receive a passing score. Yet, when they used the Gleim CPA review system, those same individuals successfully passed parts of the exam and/or have completed all four parts of the CPA exam. These were parts that they previously found to be extremely challenging, if not “impossible.”
I think that the proof of Gleim’s success record is evidenced by the number of individuals who have passed the CPA exam and are now part of the elite category of being a CPA. It was not hard to come to this conclusion after I began researching the Gleim CPA material, speaking with an Accounting Training Consultant, and after taking several diagnostic quizzes for the Audit CPA section. Now I too have decided to use the Gleim CPA review system to study for the CPA exam. I must admit that I am both excited and nervous about the journey toward obtaining a CPA license. I know with a lot of hard work and dedicated planning, someday soon I will be able to say “I am a CPA, and Gleim helped me to make my dream possible.”
My strongest piece of advice I want to share with my fellow aspiring CPA candidates is to not give up the dream of becoming a CPA because it can happen!
